PRO STOCK RULES 2008

TRACK LOCATION: LASSEN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
195 Russell Ave. SUSANVILLE, CALIFORNIA

Drivers Equipment:

Helmet/Firesuit:  Helmet and flame resistant fire suit required. Neck brace required. Fire resistant gloves and shoes highly recommended. HELMETS are required and nust be SHCA or Snell-type full coverage and will be worn at all times car is on the track.  Helmets-Snell 2000 or newer.  No dents or crack in helmet.  Helmet must accompany vehical at time of inspection.  Belts must be mounted to cage.  Window net required.  (Window net to be mounted so latch is at top fromt of dirver side of window.)

Seat Belts: Four (4) point safety belts required.  (5 point recommended)  Belts should be replaced every 2 years.  NO FRAYS OR CUTS.  Aluminum racing seats. No fiberglass seats.


Engine:
A. The center of the forward most plug hole shall be no further back than the upper
ball joint center line.
Engine must be cast iron with exception of intake and exhaust manifolds.
Single plane intakes O.K.
No Zoomies, No 180’s.
**OEM heads and block.
**Spec un-altered heads are: for Chevy, World Products Sportsman II Part number WRL-011150-1 and for Ford, World Products Windsor SR. Part number WRL-053040-1. These heads may be purchased at Summit Racing Equipment with these part numbers. These part numbers must be able to be read on the front and rear of heads and be the original numbers from the factory. No other after market heads such as, but not limited to, Dart or Brodix Phase and Bow Tie are allowed.
Engine must use factory mount bosses. Accessories can be changed.
Electronic ignitions O.K.
No fuel injection.
Maximum 800cfm carburetor. No exotic carburetors including, but not limited to, Predators and Dominators, etc.
Minor radiator protection is allowed and must be made of same roll bar material.
No dry sumps.
Race fuel O.K. No Methanol.
All cars are subject to inspection at any time and may require the removal of some components.
Transmissions:
OEM Transmissions only.
No competition transmissions.
OEM style single disc clutch. No ram couplers.
All automatics must have functional torque converter.
No aluminum flywheels.
Body and suspension:
Minimum wheelbase of 100", maximum deviation side to side of one (1) inch.
Car must have a minimum weight of at least 3000 lbs. with driver after main event.
Steel and aluminum after market bodies O.K. Must resemble OEM body. Subject to tech approval. Performance Bodies Short track bodies are O.K.
No fiberglass bodies allowed.
No wedge bodies.
Spoilers allowed but not exceeding six (6) inches in height as measured from top of deck.
Driver must sit within one (1) foot of the original position. Driver cannot be sitting over driveline.
Front suspension, rear suspension must match engine: i.e. Chevy to Chevy, Ford to Ford.
Frame can be homemade behind fire wall but must pass over rear differential.
Suspension must be OEM, but attachment points can be modified.
Heim joints O.K. in front steering, panhard, torque arm and shocks.
Suspension mounting points may be changed as long as factory components are used.
Spindle, rotors and calipers must be OEM.
Racing shocks can be used and remounted but cannot be coil over type. Weight jacks O.K.
No more than four (4) shocks per car.
**Steel Non-adjustable tubular upper control arms with heims O.K.
Rear differential may be full float, no cambered rear ends.
Ford nine (9) inch rear-ends O.K.
No camber, quick-change or aluminum housing.
Steering quickeners O.K.

Tires and wheels:
Hoosier Racing Tire G-60, McCreary G-60, or American Racer, Towel City Winston Cup, Retreads with 66 compound. Tire may not protrude more than four (4) inches past the bodywork.
Bead lock allowed on right rear only.
Any steel wheel allowed. No spacers wider than one (1) inch allowed
Wheel stud threads must protrude from lug nuts.
Bleeder valves. O.K.
No tire softening of any kind allowed.
PROTEST

A protest of the competitor's car is encouraged if the competing driver believes a violation of the technical rules exists. The Chief Steward shall decide whether the matter to be protested is in accordance with the rules and if so, shall decide the protest as promptly as possible and inform the parties to the protest of the decision. A decision that the matter cannot be protested is final and cannot be appealed. In deciding the protest, the official may take whatever action deemed appropriate to further the interest of fairness, safety and finality and competition results. Such action includes, but is not limited to, revising the race results and imposing penalties as described in section 13 or taking no action.


A visual protest is a claim that a competitor's car does not conform to Diamond Mountain Speedway specifications. The resolution of which does not require the use of the technical measuring device or tear down. Visual protest must be made to the Chief Steward within 15 minutes after an event. The protest must be from a competing driver in the same division of the same race meet. in writing and be accompanied by a $50 cash protest fee. If the protested car is found to be legal, the protest fee will be deposited into the banquet fund. If the protest is upheld the $50 will be returned to the protesting driver.

A technical protest is a claim that a competitor's car does not conform to the Diamond Mountain Speedway specifications. The resolution of which requires the use of a measuring device and/or any disassembling of a motor or any part of the car. The technical protest must be from a competing driver in the same division at the same race meet, in writing and be accompanied by $100 cash protest fee. If the protest part of the car is found to be legal, the protest fee will be returned. If the protest part of the car is found to be legal, the protest fee will go to the protested driver.

Any car found illegal will be subject to the penalties set forth by removal of illegal parts, disqualification, loss of points and winnings for all events, a $100 fine and a one event suspension of driver and car at all Diamond Mountain Speedway events for the first offense. The second offense or failure to remove such parts or equipment, or failure to comply with the inspection will result in disqualification, loss of points and winnings for all events, a $200 fine and a two event suspension for car and driver at all Diamond Mountain Speedway events. A third offense will result in double penalties. The decision of the Diamond Mountain Speedway Officials is final.

Only one person from the protesting crew may be present with the Technical Inspector and the protested crew during the tear down. All other drivers and crews must stay in their respective pit during tear down. Failure to comply will result in, but not be limited to, a fine and/or rejection of violator and/or disqualification of associated driver and car.

All cars must remain at the track for at least 20 minutes after last event in which it has completed, unless permission has been granted by the Chief Steward to leave or car and/or driver have been ejected from the event.

No protest will be accepted that is directed at a decision of an official or supervisory official, including but not limited to, timing and scoring decisions, technical or safety inspections and race procedure decisions.

The Chief Steward will discuss all matters of any protest with the protesting and protested driver only.


EIRI (except in rare instances) decisions of DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY officials are final and binding without exception. READ THE RULES CAREFULLY
