MODIFIED RULES
2009


1. ROLL CAGES:

(A) Must consist of continuous hoops not less than 1.666-inch outside diameter and must have
a wall thickness of at least. 095".

(B) Must be frame-mounted in at least six (6) places.

( C) Must consist of a configuration of front and rear hoops connected by tubing on the sides or side
hoops. Driver's head must not protrude above cage with helmet on and strapped in driver's seat.
Roll cage must be securely supported and braced.

(D) Low carbon, mild steel tubing is recommended. No brazing or soldering allowed..

(E) Protection of feet is mandatory. Bar across back of engine with vertical bars and rub rails, or
similar protection.

(F) NO brace bars forward of cage may be higher than stock height.

2. DRIVER DOOR BARS must be as parallel with the ground as possible and located perpendicular to
the driver so as to provide maximum protection for driver but without causing undue difficulty in getting
into or out of vehicle. The sidebars must be welded to the front and rear of the roll cage members. No
brazing or soldering allowed. Door bar less than .095" thickness should have four (4) bars at least 1 1/2"
diameter . Steel door plate, 18 gauge or .049 inch minimum thickness, must be securely welded to outside of driver side door bars and cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear hoop down-post to five inches in front of seat. Must be visible for inspection.

3. HELMETS are required and must be approved SHCA or Snell-type full coverage and should be worn
at all times car is on the track. Helmets-Snell SA 2000 or better.  Helmet must accompany vehicle at time
of inspection..

4. FIRE SUITS of a flame-retardant nature must be worn by all competitors. Two-piece fire suits
allowed.. Fire resistant gloves and shoes are recommended.

5. BRAKES must operate on 3 wheels and lock up 3 wheels during inspection. Brake shutoff devices
allowed..

6. EXHAUST SYSTEM must be mounted in such a way as to direct spent gases away from cockpit of vehicle and away from areas of possible fuel spillage. MUFFLERS MANDATORY; 95DBA @100 FEET

7. RACING FUEL CELLS required and must be mounted by at least two steel straps, two inches wide
around cell. Fuel cells must be enclosed in metal container and must also be protected in rear of axle by
roll-cage tubing mounted securely. No part of fuel cell should be lower than protective tubing.. Protective
tubing should be no wider that 6" on both sides of fuel cell. Fuel cells must have check valves and bladders
are highly recommended. Fuel cells are limited to 32-gallons maximum capacity.

8. BATTERIES must be securely mounted and shielded. Batteries mounted inside vehicle must be in
marine-type cases.

9. FUEL may be either gasoline or alcohol. NO Nitrous Oxide. NO additives of any kind (penalty: See
rule 28 J ).

10. LOOSE OBJECTS and/or weights must not be used in driver's compartment or outside of the body
or hood area. Any weights added to the vehicle must be securely mounted at least with 2 1/2" bolts and
should be painted white with car number on them.


11. TIRES:

(A)  Hoosier Race Tire G60-15 with IMCA stamped on sidewall will be the
track tire. There will be no softening, conditioning, siping or grooving of the tires. You may also run the McCreary or American Racer G-60.

(B)  Maximum width of 9 inches mounted on conventual 8" steel wheel. Bead locking devices, including screws, may be used. No grooving of tires allowed. Mud plugs allowed. Bead lock on RT/Rear only.

(C) Maximum overall width (front and rear) shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tread.
Maximum 1/2 " spacer, between hub and wheel, steel or aluminium, allowed on car, so long as
overall width does not exceed 78" limit. No wheel adapters allowed.

12. STARTER: All vehicles must have the capability of starting without being pushed or pulled

13. FRAMES:
(A) Factory production complete full 1960 or newer parallel American passenger car frames only.
Frames may be cut in rear only at point not further that 36" from center of rear-end housing.

(B) Frames may not be widened or narrowed and must be able to support roll cage on both sides.
Must be full and complete both sides. Front cross member may be notched for radiator clearance
only. Minimum frame height (and body height) from ground is 4",

(C) Front suspension and steering must be unaltered OEM and be in stock location and must be
replaceable by stock part from same type suspension. Stock passenger car spindles only; no
fabrication spindles. Bottom A-frames cannot be altered or moved. Front sway bar must be
OEM. Outer Tie rod end and adjustment sleeve may be replace by a minimum .625 rod end and
steel tube.

(D) Tube-type upper A-frames allowed and can be moved.

(E) No coil-over shocks allowed either front or rear. No homemade coil-over used anywhere
on racecar.

(F) No Jeep, Bronco (etc.) or 4-wheel drive frames allowed. No sports car frames allowed.
No front wheel drive allowed.

(G) Rear of frame may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs; any coil spring must be at least
4 1/2" outside diameter. No fiberglass springs allowed. No torsion bars allowed in rear.

(H) No hydraulic, ratchet or electric weight jacks anywhere in or on car.

(I) One shock per wheel only. Additional shocks in other locations permissible. Any shock on
car may be claimed for $50.

(J) Minimum wheelbase, 108 inches, both sides NO-TOLERANCE. No front clips or tube type
allowed. No aluminium of fiberglass suspension parts. No aluminium drive shafts.

14. WEIGHT: Minimum weight limit of 2500 pounds, after any race with the driver in the car. NO TOLERANCE. Loose objects and/or weights must not be used in driver’s compartment or outside of body or hood area. Any weights added to other areas of Vehicle must be securely mounted with at least 2 ½” bolts, painted white and have car number on it. No gun-drilled, tubular or hollow bolts or studs.

15. BODIES:
(A) 1970 or newer American compact passenger car only (No panel vans or wagons). Must use
steel or fiberglass full size roof. Should be stock appearing. Stock appearing front windshield and
read window support unit (painted roll bars not acceptable substitute).

(B) Fire wall and floorboards are mandatory. All body parts should be recognizable as factory
production vehicle. Fiberglass or metal duplicates of body parts are permitted. Handmade body

parts may be constructed of steel, aluminium or fiberglass, but should be recognizable as factory
production vehicle, No "slab" bodies. All cars in competition must have complete paint job.
Unpainted aluminium bodies are not acceptable.
(C) All cars must be numbered with large legible numbers on both doors, on top and rear
panels. Letters on doors of car should be in contrasting color from body, be at least 4" thick
and at least 20" high. Top numbers should be at least 4" thick and 30" high.

(D) Sponsor's names must not interfere with car numbers and must be neatly lettered.

(E) Original roofline of vehicle should be maintained with a minimum of 5" drop to the front
and 2" to the rear. No wings, spoilers or any other effects are allowed anywhere outside or
inside car.

(F) Engine compartment will remain open, no side panels: hood sides may have maximum 4" drop
and hood must be enclosed to keep engine fire out of the driver's face. Bodies should extend no
further forward than back of block. Rear of bodies to be solid panel at least 8" high and include
car number. No panel in front of right door to engine compartment.

(0) Driver and passenger windows on both sides of car must have at least 12" vertical opening.
Must have left window net or and restraints.

16. TRANSMISSIONS:

(A) Only OEM production type transmissions will be allowed---3 speed and 4-speed must be
clutch operated. Automatic transmissions are allowed. No 5-speed transmissions, NO "in and out"
boxes. (With motor running and in still position, driver must be able to engage car in gear and
move forward, then backwards, at time of inspection).

(B) Transmissions must have at least one gear forward and one gear reverse, plus a neutral
position and must be able to be shifted by driver. All racecars must join line-up on demand,
unaided or go to the rear of that race.

(C) Clutch-type transmissions must be equipped with an explosion-proof steel bell housing.
If an explosion proof bell housing is not available for your engine or if you prefer, you may
construct a shield of at least 3 " x 6" steel covering the clutch area 360 degrees and be securely
fastened (highly recommended to include automatic transmissions; required for e~mod series).

17. COMPETITION SHOULDER HARNESS at least 3", lap belt at least 3", and sub strap are
required. No factory type shoulder belts or straps. Metal to metal buckles are required. The shoulder
harness should be mounted even with or slightly above driver's shoulders. Seat belts and shoulder harness
recommended not more than 2 years old.

18. KILL SWITCH require within easy reach of driver. This switch must be clearly marked "OFF" and
"ON".

19. DRIVE SHAFT LOOP is required and must be constructed of at least 1/4" x 2" steel and should be
mounted no more than 6" back from front of drive shaft. Drive shaft must be painted white.

20 Any American-made engine may be used as long as rear of engine (bell housing flange) is mounted at
least 72" forward from the center of rear axle. Engine offset must be kept within 2" of centerline of front
cross member. Engine height minimum will be II" from ground to front center crankshaft.

21. BUMPERS:

(A) Bumpers should be used both front and rear. Front bumpers should be mounted frame
end-to-frame end with the bottom loop parallel to the ground. Should be made of minimum 1-1/4"
tubing and be able to support car if lifted by wrecker.

(B) Rear bumper, nerf bars and bodies must not extend beyond width of rear tires, and must not
contain any sharp edges.

(C) Rear bumpers may be constructed of tubing or flat stock and must protect fuel cell. Center of
bumpers (front and rear) must be 18" (plus or minus 2") from ground. Rear bumpers no more that
4" wider than body.

22. ASPIRATION:

One 2 or one 4-barrel carburetor okay: must be naturally aspirated. No fuel injection; NO
electric fuel pumps; No magnetos.

.

23. REAR END:

(A) Any passenger car type or truck rear end may be used; no aluminum allowed, except lowering
blocks, axle cap, drive plate, and spools.

(B) No quick-change devices allowed.

24. STEERING BOX must be OEM. No rack and pinion allowed. Must remain within original bolt
pattern for type of frame used. In cockpit, steering may be modified to suit driver' s taste, but must be kept
on left side of cockpit. NO CENTER STEERING.

25. No transmitting or listening devices in car.

26. Aluminum wheels, hubs, calipers, " A " frames or spindles or any other aluminum suspension parts, are
NOT allowed. Plastic wheels NOT allowed. Front calipers cannot be lightened and must be OEM.
Rotors may be drilled for different bolt pattern or larger studs.

27. ENGINES:

(A) All engines used in competition must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without
alterations. Motor mounts cannot be removed or altered. Castings and fittings must not be
changed. No machine work on outside engine or on front or rear of camshaft. No aluminum
blocks or heads.

(B) No total "dry dump" systems allowed. "Wet" system must be operative.

(C) Cooling system may be modified. Radiators and oil coolers must not protrude above interior.

28. ENGINE claiming and exchange rules:

(A) The first four Main Event finishers must report directly to the claiming area. Failure to do so
will result in disqualification and loss of points and money for the first offense (heads and
manifold are still clain1able) A second infraction will be treated as a claim refusal... Only drivers
and officials are allowed in claiming area. There is a $900 cash claim on heads and intake
manifold exchange. First decision to sell or not is binding.

(8) NO driver may claim unless he has competed at the track the three previous events as a
member of Diamond Mountain Speedway Claim is in effect on opening night for all eligible member driver's and driver must have competed at the track and been a member on opening night to be eligible to
claim the fourth night of the season.

(C) Claim includes cylinder heads and intake manifold only. Cylinder heads consist of valves,
valve springs, retainers, keepers, rocker arms, stud girdle and rocker studs. Intake manifold
shall be bare.

(D) Driver making claim must be running on the lead lap, fifth place on back.

(E) Each driver is allowed to make only one claim per event, regardless of the outcome of the
first claim.

(F) Driver wishing to make claim must drive his car to the claiming area under its own power.

(G) Only the driver can make claim on heads and manifold. Only the driver can accept or
refuse claim.

(H) All heads and manifolds being claimed will be removed at the racetrack in a timely manner.

(I) Anyone attempting to sabotage heads and manifolds that are subject to being claimed or
swapped will be subject to fine, penalty and disqualification or all of the above.

{J) First refusal to sell and swap will result in loss of all moneys and points that night and a $900
fine.

(K) Any driver refusing to sell and swap heads and manifold, when claimed within the rules,
regardless of his reinstatement with DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY, loses his right to claim any driver's headsand manifold for 12 calendar months from date of refusal to sell or swap.

(L) A1l moneys forfeited will be deposited into the DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY Championship fund.

(M) Any driver found to be claiming heads and manifold for anyone but him self is subject to
loss of all points, fine and/or suspension, as is the driver or driver's who conspire to do so.

(N) No devices allowed to make engine look like it is blowing up.

(0) No driver may claim the heads and manifold of another car that has the same registered owner.

(P) All claims must be made to the official who is at the claiming area immediately after the Main
Event. Claiming is restricted to the Main Event only. Driver making claim must have in his
possession $900 cash and his/her DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY membership card.

(Q) No driver may claim more than 3 sets of heads and manifolds in one racing season.

(R) Promoter may make claim on heads and manifold if no one else claims.

(S) Any driver letting their pit crew get involved in any way during a heads and manifold claim
is subject to fine, penalty, disqualification or all of the above.

(T DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY reserves the right to make any necessary changes in the claiming role withone week's notice to the competitors.

(U) No driver can be claimed more that 3 times per season.

29 (A) Any person competing in a DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY event must be a registered
owner/driver in good standing with DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY .

(B) Any car and/or driver after first guest appearance will not be scored for points and will
receive no money earned, until car and/or driver have paid their Annual Registration for
DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY.

(C) NO changing of car number at the track. If car leaves the track for any reason and returns,
the owner and the driver must return with same car and number. Last car a driver qualifies is the
car he must drive. Car or driver may only run in two qualifying laps. A relief may be used during
"OPEN SHOW" for same event. Upon pill draw a car becomes qualified.

30. Decisions of DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY Official(s) are final and binding without exception.

Note: The above rules are in effect starting the 2009 season. This does not preclude changes
by the promoter as deemed necessarily .
